چکیده
Whether a link exists between kidney stone disease and osteoporosis or fractures remains an open question. In this retrospective cohort study, we sought to determine the prevalence of rate bone mineral density screening by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in patients with disease. We examined nationwide data from Veterans Health Administration identified 531,431 2007 2015. Nearly 1 4 (23.6%, 95% confidence interval [CI] 23.5–23.7) had prevalent diagnosis fracture. no prior history assessment before diagnosis, 9.1% were screened DXA after their whom 20% subsequently diagnosed osteoporosis. Our findings provide support for wider use disease, including middle-aged older men, group less well recognized as at risk fractures. © 2021 American Society Bone Mineral Research (ASBMR).

Osteoporosis in mineral and bone disorders of chronic kidney disease.
Osteoporosis is one of the epidemics in modern aging societies. Epidemiological studies indicate that many patients with osteoporosis are also characterized by diminished glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which indicates various degrees of chronic kidney disease (CKD). On the other hand, the status of osteoporosis in the classification of mineral and bone disorders in CKD has not been well defi...

Bone mineral density of the lumbar vertebrae (L2-4BMD) in involutional osteoporosis was measured by dual photon absorptiometry to investigate its relationship with the incidence of osteoporotic vertebral fractures of the thoracic and lumbar spine. In addition to monitor L2-4BMD, the author also examined the progress of vertebral fractures during drug treatments by means of radiographs. L2-4BMD ...

GOALS Recent findings suggest the prevalence of osteoporosis among men is under-recognized. The patient population of the Veterans Health Administration (VA) is predominantly male and many elderly veterans may be at risk of osteoporosis. Given the lack of data on male osteoporosis, we provide initial insight into diagnostic procedures for patients at one VA medical center. PROCEDURES A review...

OBJECTIVE To investigate bone mineral density (BMD) in men with symptomatic osteoporosis and compare BMD in patients with idiopathic, secondary and corticosteroid associated osteoporosis. METHODS Age, number of vertebral fractures at presentation and BMD were investigated in men presenting to a bone metabolism clinic with idiopathic (n=105; group 1), secondary (n=67; group 2) and corticostero...

M a i n r e s u l t s 20 RCTs (2361 patients) met the selection criteria. Types of osteoporosis included postmenopausal osteoporosis (10 RCTs), idiopathic male osteoporosis (2 RCTs), and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (1 RCT). 18 RCTs evaluated human PTH(l-34) administered subcutaneously. Dosages of PTH varied markedly among RCTs. Treatment duration ranged from 6 weeks to 3 years. Comparis...
